Photographer

The photographer will be taking individual photographs of children in the school on Tuesday November 10th

Please tell the school office if you do not want your child to have their photograph taken

You will be given proofs and can decide which photos you wish to buy

If you want younger children taken with nursery children then please bring them at the beginning of the session 9 am or 1pm

Parents of children in the under three’s centre can also bring their children between 9 am and 4pm


Pantomime

Children from the over three’s centre will be going to see the pantomime “”Cinderella” at the Albert Hall in Bolton

On Wednesday 9th December  leaving school at 9.15 and returning at 1 o’clock

Tuesday 1st December leaving school at 12.45 and returning at 4.30

 We have a limited number of tickets for children and parents

The  cost  of the coach and the tickets is £8 each

Please ask at the office if you would like a ticket


Christmas Raffle

We will be having a raffle in December to raise money for the Christmas activities.

We would be grateful if you could bring us prizes


Parent Consultation

Parent consultation  days – both buildings

You will be getting a letter asking  you to book an appointment time to come and see your child's  key person during weeks beginning 16th and 23rd November.

This is to discuss your child's progress, find out how you feel about their learning and share what we will be doing next with your child

If you cannot come during these weeks then please ask for an appointment at a time that suits you.

You will be given a sheet to fill in before you come to see the key person. Please fill this in and bring it with you- it will form part of your  child’s learning journal.

We cannot supply these and children will not be able to be changed regularly if we do not have enough nappies

Developing fine motor skills

Threading pasta and weetos onto pipe cleaners and wool

 Cutting-  magazines, straws, ribbons, shape templates,

Construction and small world- tolotoys magnetic blocks mobilo, train set, farm and jungle animals, tool kits

Sensory –fabrics to explore, birds with noises, smelly pots and bags, feathers, tinsel food tasting – apples

Treasure baskets-shiny objects, everyday objects, shredded paper, kitchen utensils, shells, wooden objects

Tasting fruit and vegetables

Role play dressing dolls, hairdressers, camping, teddy bears picnic, making dens,

Music and movement-skittles, dancing to African music

Outdoor –bikes, prams, planks for balancing, sand and buckets and spades, water painting, collecting leaves

MESSY PLAY- play dough with smells, pasta, glitter and sequins. Ice wet and dry spaghetti

Manipulative- custard, jelly, angel delight, mashed potato, cornflour. Cleaning tables and chairs with wet cloths hanging washing on line, coloured sand with small spoons and sieves

Sand –with twigs , cars, pebbles , rocks, bottle tops, Water –lavender oil, twigs, watering cans, bathing babies with bubbles, slimy water swamp with blue jelly and bugs!

Mark making-with gloop , rice pudding, shaving foam. Printing with fruit and potatoes

Glue-coloured glue , glitter, fabric, magazines, pasta rice confetti lentils, straws

Cutting- leaf shapes, witches hats, stars, fireworks

Manipulative-pasta , glitter, clay, mash potato, shaving foam, fresh fish, dinosaurs in green jelly

Physical play-balancing, crawling, climbing

Ball play-footballs and nets

ICT- bip and bop, Romer dressed as Bob the builder, 2 simple music, musical toys

Construction – natural materials, woodwork bench, blocks and fabric

Outdoor classroom –feeding the birds, autumn match and treasure hunt Painting-printing with leaves, bricks , sponges

Gluing- dried flowers, fabric, autumn canvas- leaves, cones, twigs

Role play – house at night – bedtime, cleaning house, caves, builders yard, camping

Science and investigation –torches and light sticks, bulb planting, spinners rainbows and kaleidoscopes, discovery boxes

Baking –sandwiches, spider web biscuits, treacle toffee, black peas

Drawing- firework pictures, witches hats, lights and candles

– if your child is coming for dinner can you bring them before 12 o'clock.

If you are going to be late, then please let us know and we will  save

their dinner

Please bring back any clothes that your child is changed into as

soon as possible- we get very short of knickers, underpants and socks

and have to buy these


Parent Classes

There will be workshops for all parents explaining the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum that all children aged 0-5 years follow . These will last for about an hour.

These are on the following dates in the school building

Friday November 13th at 9.15  

Wednesday 18th November at 1.15 pm

Thursday November 19 at 7pm

There will be English classes for parents on Tuesday afternoons in the school please see office staff if you are interested
