OFSTED

I am required by Ofsted to give parents and carers the following information.

The under three’s centre had an unannounced visit from Ofsted on April 8th 2009 following a complaint they received about our provision- particularly the requirement for safeguarding and promoting children's welfare aspect of the Early year’s Foundation Stage.

The inspector says “ we were found to be meeting these requirements and no further action will be taken”

Over Three's Farm Trip

We will be taking the children to Farmer Ted’s farm in Ormsirk on the following dates

Morning children Thursday 14th may

Afternoon children Wednesday 20 May

Daycare children will go on both days if they have care on these days

This trip is a full day from 9-4 and school is closed on both days so your child will be off on the day they are not on the trip

You will be given a letter with more details

Stamps for Guide Dogs

We are collecting stamps for the guide dogs and the RSPB campaign to save the albatross from extinction. Please bring in stamps off your mail. Leave a centimetre of envelope around each stamp.

Thank you.

Car Seats

I have mentioned in previous newsletters that it is illegal to have your child in the car without a booster seat or seat belt.

The community police are very concerned about the number of parents breaking the law in this respect. They are focusing their attention on this school and will be issuing spot fines of £80 and 3 penalty points on your licence if they see parents with children not strapped in.

Governor News

Our parent governors have been working very hard making sure that the actions on the school development plan are being carried out. I would like to thank Mrs Ahmed, Mrs Bhorat and Mrs Mogradia for the support and time they have given.

The next full governors meeting is on Monday 18th May at 5pm

We also have a group of parents who are keen to do fundraising events to raise money to upgrade the school garden – more details later

Shoes

Please make sure your child is wearing shoes that fit properly and are safe when they are running and playing outdoors

Babies need to wear hard soled shoes if they are beginning to walk – our floors can be slippy if the child wears soft soled shoes and may cause a child to fall and be hurt
