Diary Dates

Wednesday June 9th – Jan white an outdoor education consultant will be working with the under threes staff and children to help develop our outdoor play procedures. All parents should have received and returned a permission sheet to sign that their child is able to be photographed on this day.

Friday June 11th- governor and staff curriculum team meeting for creative development 1-2.30

Over 3’s daycare children to go to central library for a story session in the afternoon

Monday 14th June- Mrs Greenough (over3’s) on a course – Inclusive play

Governors Mrs Vania and Mrs Ahmed and Mrs Kenny on governor training at 6 o’clock

Tuesday June 15th – mini soccer stars will be in the over threes in the morning to work with children on their football skills

Wednesday 16th June – Mrs Kenny speaking at a conference at Edge Hill University

Miss Leanne Kavannagh ( Under 3’s) on a course Baby moves level 1

Thursday 17th June- Mini Soccer Stars will be in the over threes in the afternoon to work with children on their football skills

Mrs Reid at a conference in Huddersfield – “Looking closely at children's playful learning”

Friday 18th June- TEDDY BEARS PICNIC at under three’s centre- your child will be bringing an invitation home for their teddy

Monday 21st June- the Creepy Crawly Show will be in the school building all day. The squirrels group from the under threes will come to see the creatures.

Tuesday June 22nd – Mrs Kenny Miss Inman and Mrs Cooney to attend a session on developing good behaviour at 4 o’clock

Wednesday 23rd June Miss Sam Andrew will bring her rabbit in to show the children at the under threes centre

Miss Sarah Gemmell (under 3’s) on a course – Understanding Attachment

Friday 25th June -governor and staff curriculum team meeting for  Physical development   1-2.30

Miss Rachael Marland had a baby girl Emily on May 10th

Letters

Letters for Alexandra Nursery School places for September have been posted to parents. And need to be returned before June 25th


Football

Mini soccer stars will be at the over threes building to help children develop their ball skills This will be good for physical development using balance and hand eye  coordination which in turn leads to healthy brain development

We are having a sponsored football shoot on Tuesday 22nd June in both buildings. Please ask people to sponsor your child for an amount for each goal they score. If your child has a football strip can they wear it on this day- will we see any aspiring Beckhams or Rooney's?

ØFootball and the world cup- developing physical skills and celebrating achievement
Øcounting how goals many adding up total.
Ø Learning about different countries   looking at flags       celebrating being English
ØFathers’ day- June 20th – caring for special people
Ø growing and planting vegetables in our garden- nature and growth

Children in the under three’s centre will be learning about

JFootball skills – kicking and throwing, scoring goals
JRolling big balls in paint to make marks
JMud and water with leaves and foliage
JMark making with fingers in coloured cornflour
JFrozen coloured  sand in containers to learn about size, shape and colours
JFloating acorns and leaves in water to learn about floating and sinking
JTeddy bears picnic on June 18th
JSam to bring her rabbit to show children on 23rd June

Next Month

We will be having a summer tombola in both buildings in July
