Parent Consulation

Parent consultation days week beginning   July 13th
You will be receiving a letter asking you to book a
 time to see your child’s
key person to discuss your child’s progress

Hot Weather Service

Please see our extreme weather policy on the parent’s notice board

WE: Do not take children out in the middle of the day when it is hottest – our timetable is adjusted so that we play outside earlier and later in each session when it is cooler

  1. Do not let children stay outside for more than 20 minutes on hot days – we go in for 20 minutes and then out again to allow children to cool down
  2.  Provide shaded areas outside so children do not get burned
  3. Put sunscreen on before children go outside (daycare and full time children)- this will last the whole session
  4. Make sure children drink plenty of water so they don’t get dehydrated

YOU NEED TO: put sunscreen on your child before they come to nursery (part time children)

  1. bring sunscreen if your child stays all day
  2. make sure your child has a sun hat
  3. dress your child in light clothing- some children have been wearing thick tights and layers of clothes –if your child overheats they could have a convulsion

Sponsors

Thank you to all parents who have brought in sponsor money- we have raised nearly £500 across the two buildings. We will be using this money to buy some new storage so that children can have better access to the
outdoor equipment
Please bring in your money if you have not already done so.

Insect Hotel

The children in the school building have been making an insect hotel with Ollie from Cool Canvas- please come in and look at it and see the photos on the wall of how it was made
Ollie has designed some new hand rails for the tree house - using drawings done by the children

Some children will be going to the playgroup at the church of the Nazarene on Monday July 13th to celebrate a singing project we have been involved in with other settings

Research Project

We have been asked to take part in some research being undertaken by “Children are Unbeatable” looking at children’s perceptions of smacking and punishment. You will be asked to sign a permission sheet if your child is to be involved and given an outline of the project

Staff Changes

Mrs Miskiw who joined us in the school office has decided not to stay. We welcome Mrs Sandra Bromley who will work in the office on Thursday and Friday starting August 20th
Miss Snape will finish for her maternity leave on Thursday 9th July.

Friday Visits

Did you know? we have visitors in the school building on Friday afternoons who come to look at our learning environment – we have been identified as a lead setting in this area.
