Parents' Day

You may not have been able to come into school during parents day week. If you would still like to talk about your child’s progress please make an appointment with the staff in the under three’s centre or the school


Alexandra website

Our website has just been updated please have a look at

There are some photos of the children on here—if you do not want your child’s picture on please let Mrs Kenny know and we will remove it. If you do not want your child to be on the website they please let the school or daycare staff know.


We would be interested in your comments about the Website.


Holidays

May 5th bank holiday —both buildings are closed


May 9th -- is a staff training day for the free education only children in the school.
Daycare is open in both buildings. We have a few vacancies on Friday morning in the over three’s

Half term holiday for free education only children is from Monday 26th May to Friday 30th May There will be holiday club everyday in the over three’s building for children aged 3-8 years


Parent Governor

We need a new parent governor
Please ask in the school office for an application form if you would like to be the parent governor.


Stamps for Guide Dogs

We are collecting stamps for the guide dogs and the RSPB campaign to save the albatross from extinction. Please bring in stamps off your mail. Leave a centimetre of envelope around each stamp.

Primary School Letters

You should have had a letter from the council this month telling you which primary school your child will go to in September. Please tell Mrs Allen in the school office If you haven’t received a letter.


Trip to the Farm

Next Month—May we will be taking the children to the farm. This is a full day trip for all children


Morning children will go on Thursday May 15th
Afternoon children will have a day off on this day


Afternoon children will go on Thursday May 22nd
Morning children will have a day off on this day


Children paying for full daycare will go on both days


You will be getting a letter soon with more details


Payments Reminder

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO PAY YOUR FEES AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE so that your invoice is fully paid by the end of the third week in the month. If your invoice is not paid by the end of the month then you will not be able to bring your child until you have cleared the arrears. You must pay for the hours you have agreed to on the
contract you signed when your child started.


Under Three's sweets Reminder

Please do not let your child bring small items in their pockets such as sweets or toys.
All our toys are safe for all the children. Small objects are not safe for our babies and we cannot risk them choking because other children bring in small Objects. We also need to ensure that children do not eat things that they are allergic to and so we don't allow children to bring in sweets or other food in their pockets coats or bags.


Our Clothes

Please bring our clothes back if your child has been changed into them
—we are getting very low on clothes


Performance

Live arts will perform the story “Laura’s Star “ in the centre on Monday 17th December Numbers are limted and by ticket only—tickets are free . Please ask at the centre reception desk for more details


Activities

Growing and planting
We will be planting seeds with the children inside and then when they have grown we will be planting them outside in our raised beds. We will be planting flowers and vegetables.


Butterflies
We have some caterpillars that will change into butterflies over the next few weeks. We will be watching them grow and talking about the changes. The children will hear the story of the hungry caterpillar— please talk to them about this.


Tadpoles.
We will have some frog spawn from Mrs Kenny's pond. We hope these will change into tadpoles and eventually frogs


Immunisations Check

We will be putting a list of the immunisations your child should have had on the notice boards in both buildings Can you please let us know if there are any vaccinations
your child has not had. – this is to enable us to do risk assessments for staff who
may be pregnant.
